Many skin issues appear as a result of the impurities that collect on our skin, such as dust, dirt, bacteria and perspiration.

Therefore, it is very important to provide deep cleansing for your skin, at least twice a day.

The type of product you use is also very important, since there are numerous types of commercial face washes on the market.

Unfortunately, these products contain toxic chemicals that can do more harm than good. Many people fail to recognize the quality products and usually don’t read the labels before they purchase the product.

Luckily, there are numerous natural alternatives which are more efficacious than the commercial products and have no side-effects at all.

Therefore, we are going to present you a homemade face wash that has protective effects and will keep your skin clean, hydrated and refreshed. It is chemical-free and easy to prepare.

The recipe includes two ingredients only: baking soda and coconut oil. They can eliminate the excess dust, dead skin cells and dirt from your skin. Moreover, they will also help you to remove the redness, acne, scars and all other skin problems you are struggling with.

This natural face wash is suitable for all types of skin, including the sensitive skin too.

• Coconut oil

This oil is highly nutritious and has moisturizing effects. It not only cleans the face, but it also balances the pH level of the skin. It enters the deep skin layers due to its low molecular weight, thus effectively removing the chemical residue which the commercial products usually leave on the skin.

• Baking soda

Baking soda is known for its cleansing and antibacterial properties. When applied to the face it acts as an amphoteric compound and helps in the treatment of acne. In other words, it keeps the optimal pH of the skin and prevents formation of acne. You can also use it for exfoliation and for providing instant sunburn relief.

Here is how to prepare the recipe:

• ½ a cup of organic coconut oil
• ½ a cup of baking soda

Warm the coconut and when it turns into liquid add the baking soda and mix until you get a paste.

For sensitive skin, use coconut oil and baking soda in ratio 2:1, while for skin exfoliation use ratio 1:1.

Apply the paste to your face and massage with circular movements. Let it stay for a while and then rinse it off with warm water. For maximum results, repeat the procedure three times weekly.
