Even though it may sound strange, you can prepare you own shampoo using baking soda. Baking soda represents a mineral natron, also known as nahcolite, which contains high amounts of sodium bicarbonate that acts as a natural cleanser and deodorant. It is also used to eliminate impurities.
HOME-MADE BAKING SODA SHAMPOO
Here is how to prepare it:
In a bottle, add 3/4 of water and ¼ of baking soda. Mix the ingredients well. If you have long hair, you can use 9 tablespoons of water and 3 tablespoons of baking soda. Apply the mixture on the hair. You can apply it either on dry or wet hair. Gently massage the solution into the scalp and the hair. Leave it for 1 minute, and wash it off.
APPLE CEDAR VINEGAR SHAMPOO
You can also prepare shampoo using apple cedar vinegar. To prepare this home-made shampoo, use 3/4 of water and ¼ of apple cedar vinegar. You can add some essential oils for scent. Apply the solution on the hair, but make sure it does not run directly into the eyes.
These home-made shampoos are great for dull or brittle hair, split ends or hair loss. However, baking soda may be alkaline, so, do not overuse it, because it can damage the hair.
