According to the ancient Chinese medicine, feet contain plenty of energy zones which are linked to the internal organs in the body. Therefore, they practice foot detox techniques to encourage the elimination of toxins and impurities.

Today we are going to present you some of these effective methods:

1. Ionic foot bath

Ionic foot baths are based on electrolysis – a technique that triggers chemical reaction by using electrical current.

This is a perfect way to get rid of the accumulated toxins. The saltwater opens your pores and encourages the absorption of ions, thus eliminating the impurities.

2. Salt detox bath

• Epsom salt (1 cup)
• Sea salt (1 cup)
• Baking soda (2 cups)
• Essential oils – this is optional

Pour all these ingredients into boiling water. After they dissolve, let the mixture cool a bit and then soak your feet for about 30 minutes. This will detoxify your body, alleviate the skin irritations, increase the levels of magnesium and help you fight tiredness and exhaustion.

3. Oxygen Detox Bath

• Ginger powder (1 tablespoon)
• Hydrogen peroxide (2 cups)

Fill your bathtub with hot water and add these ingredients. Soak your feet for 30 minutes. This will remove the toxins and treat the skin irritations and allergies.

4. Clay Detox Bath

• Epsom salt (½ cup)
• Bentonite clay (½ cup)
• Essential oils – this is optional

Fill your bathtub with hot water and dissolve the Epsom salt. Add the clay to a smaller amount of water and then pour it into the bathtub. Soak your feet for 20 minutes. This will increase the magnesium levels and detoxify your body.

5. Foot detox pads

These pads are made of bamboo extracts and you can find them in the healthy stores. Put the pads on your feet before going to bed and remove them in the morning.

If they become dark, it means that there are no longer toxins in your body. People who have used these detox pads report feeling fewer headaches and less joint pain.

Make sure you wash your feet with warm water and mild soap before doing any of these foot detox techniques. Use a fine pumice stone or net scrubber to remove the dead skin cells and to soften your calluses before soaking the feet.

Afterwards, apply a foot cream or moisturizer.

In case you use ionic foot bath machine, make sure you turn it off before you walk away from it.
